The WoW player Rextroy is back on the hunt. This time he is killing enemies in PvP – with a shield slam right to the face.
World of Warcraft is a fairly complex game with a variety of abilities, active and passive effects, all interacting with each other. In most cases, these interactions are quite harmless, but one player keeps managing to compile the most interesting combos and thus launch devastating attacks.
Rextroy is back and once again he is dealing one-shot kills in PvP that even work in the arena.
The kicker: This time a shield slam from the warrior will take you down.
Who is Rextroy? The name Rextroy is likely familiar to many players, as he publishes a video every few weeks and discovers a new, absurd exploit or combination of abilities. He usually uses these to demonstrate how to quickly solo players in PvP or even raid bosses.
What has he discovered this time? Rextroy has obtained the 4-piece set bonus of the tier set with his warrior. This increases the damage of the next shield slam by a whopping 200%. That alone would be a powerful bonus, but it was not enough for Rextroy. He thought about what other ways there are to further increase the damage of the attack. Some of his additional buffs are:
- 30% additional damage from Shield Block
- 30% additional damage from Avatar
- 15% more damage from mastery bonuses (Necrolord abilities)
- 25% more damage from strength modifiers (racial bonus and trinket)
- 18% more damage from soulbinds
- … and a few more.
In the end, he reaches a modifier of 553% of the original damage.
You can watch the result in the video:
Rextroy unleashes shield slams that, in the case of a critical hit, can deal up to 107,000 damage points, instantly wiping out any character. Even in non-critical cases, it often results in 30,000 to 50,000 damage, which puts every other class to the test.
Rextroy uses this to simply steamroll opponents in PvP and achieve a rating of 2,000 – essentially everything through a single combo that almost always kills a player and thus means victory in the arena.
Is this forbidden? Many of Rextroy’s videos clearly fall under the category exploit. In this case, however, it may not be so, as Rextroy is fundamentally just stacking all possible buffs that make sense in a fight and using them together with the tier set bonus.
However, it is to be expected that Blizzard will soon put a stop to this overpowering shield slam before tanks eliminate all other players in PvP.
What do you think of this warrior combo? A cool thing? Or just “stupid” that something like this is even possible?
