A warlock in World of Warcraft has discovered how to become immortal – and with this, he has explored the whole world, beyond exhaustion.
What happened? The WoW player Rextroy has once again published a video showcasing a special circumstance in Azeroth. He has found a way to make himself nearly immortal with his warlock. Every 2 seconds, he gets healed for nearly 40,000 health points, restoring his maximum HP each time. This essentially makes him immortal.
How does it work? The bug lies with the medium “Accrued Vitality” from the warlock. According to the description, this medium ensures that the warlock is healed for around 65% of the value drained by the spell “Drain Life” over 9 seconds after using it. However, the medium is faulty and instead restores 65% of the value every 2 seconds.
This can be combined with the fact that spells at level 60 deal extremely high damage to low-level targets. When a level 60 character casts life drain on a level 1 creature, it deals not just 300-400 damage but almost 200,000. This involves the beloved frogs, which Rextroy has used to perform many tricks in other videos.
This, in turn, means that with the medium, the warlock is fully healed every 2 seconds.
What did he do next? First, Rextroy used this circumstance as usual to annoy some Horde players. Even when three, five, and later ten enemies hit him, he can keep himself alive for quite a while with this trick. It becomes critical only when he is stunned or interrupted for more than 10 seconds in a row and cannot apply Drain Life on the frog.
Yet it gets even more exciting later, as Rextroy exploits this massive self-healing for a second purpose: He cannot die from exhaustion damage. While other players swimming in the sea lose 20% of their health points every few seconds after a while, he can infinitely heal against it, completely negating the damage.
This allows for a lot of exploration. He reaches the actual “end of the world” several times, discovers expansive areas in the ocean, and even encounters “death lines,” where you die instantly upon crossing.
As usual, Rextroy reports such errors and problems with individual abilities to Blizzard first before he publishes his videos. Therefore, it can be assumed that the bug will be fixed within a few hours, making it no longer possible to exploit this bug as well.
What do you think about it? A cool accomplishment and great insights to places that normally can’t be reached? Or clear cheating and forbidden?
