The second part of the War of the Thorns in World of Warcraft is now live. Return to the Darkshore and experience the dramatic conclusion.
The pre-event of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is in full swing. Since today’s maintenance (01.08.2018), the second part of the questline is also active in Europe. The War of the Thorns continues and brings you back to the Darkshore. Here you will experience the finale of the event and all the events leading up to the destruction of Darnassus.
Quest starts automatically: After logging in, you should automatically receive a quest if you have completed the first part of the missions. As a Horde player, Sylvanas calls you back to the Darkshore, while as an Alliance player, Malfurion asks you to join him. You must then head to Kalimdor to the Darkshore and play the last missions of the War of the Thorns to unlock the final cinematic.
The Burning of the World Tree in the cinematic. The climax of the War of the Thorns is the finale. After the last quest, you will finally see the cinematic that reveals how exactly the burning of Teldrassil came to be and why the homeland of the Night Elves is engulfed in flames. If you can’t wait, you can watch the cinematic already in this article. For all others, we remain silent to avoid spoilers.
Mounts at the end of the questline. At the very end of the questline, a flying mount awaits for both Horde and Alliance. Alliance players will get the hippogryph from Teldrassil, while Horde followers receive the plaguebat from Undercity.
Those who have pre-ordered Battle for Azeroth will soon experience the counterattack – as the Alliance attacks Undercity. The scenario is exclusively available to pre-order customers, at least until the launch. Starting August 14, all players will have to go to Undercity, as this is the introductory quest for Battle for Azeroth.
If you want the mounts, you should hurry. With the launch of Battle for Azeroth, the quests and thus the mounts will no longer be available!
How did you like the War of the Thorns as a pre-event for Battle for Azeroth? Was it a cool experience as a whole event? Or does it not quite measure up to the invasions of Legion?
