The Cosmic Flux is currently frustrating many players. However, World of Warcraft promises to finally change that – and soon.
Leveling Twinks is currently quite easy in World of Warcraft. Blizzard has removed most of the grind from the game, so the 2nd or 3rd character can catch up relatively easily. Only one resource still poses problems: the Cosmic Flux. However, this will be addressed in the coming days.
What is the current problem? This can be easily pinpointed with one term: Cosmic Flux. This resource is primarily needed for two things in World of Warcraft:
- Crafting legendary items at the maximum rank (291).
- Converting items into tier-set pieces at the Creation Catalyst.
Especially converting items requires a solid amount of cosmic Flux. This means that secondary characters often have to farm the Flux for hours, while the main characters of the respective account often have several tens of thousands of Flux units saved up that they will never use again.
Converting items into tier-set pieces is considered essential in many areas, as tier-set bonuses significantly enhance characters. This means a lot of Flux is needed.
What does Blizzard want to change? In the official WoW forum, the developer Scariizard spoke up and explained that they want to “adjust the availability of cosmic Flux with the start of Season 4 or shortly thereafter.”
While the specific plans for how this might look are still being discussed, the goal is likely clear: Players should be able to obtain cosmic Flux more easily, which currently poses a significant nuisance and forces many characters into content they are not particularly interested in, so they can fully unfold their potential in raids, dungeons, or PvP.
What solution is most likely? If we look at how Blizzard has addressed the issue with other resources, there are basically two ways in which cosmic Flux could be made more accessible in the future:
- The existing sources of cosmic Flux (dungeons, Torghast, treasures, etc.) will be drastically buffed, granting much more Cosmic Flux.
- Characters can buy a new item and send Cosmic Flux to secondary characters.
Whether Blizzard opts for one of these two options or chooses a completely different path is still unclear.
When will the change happen? Season 4 starts on August 3, 2022, so in about 4 weeks. The change should take place then or shortly afterward, meaning all players must be patient for a while longer or farm the Flux traditionally in the meantime.
