When exactly Shadowlands will really be released is still uncertain. The problem is probably that every possible date brings its own difficulties.
From Wednesday, you can first take advantage of Patch 9.0 – especially look forward to 5 things.
The delay of Shadowlands had to be processed by some WoW players first. But with some reflection, most of you find: That’s okay.
For some fans of World of Warcraft, it ruined their vacation plans. The upcoming expansion Shadowlands will no longer be released in October, but rather later this year.
In a survey, we wanted to know how this delay is perceived by you, the readers of Mein-MMO. Do you understand it or are you angry? Now we have the results, and they are comparatively clear.
- 59% of the votes (713 votes) believe that the delay is a good thing
- 22% of you (270 votes) see both the pros and the cons of the delay
- 19% (218 votes) feel that the delay is a mistake and think it could have been handled better
What the positive voices say
Many take it rather calmly and believe that Blizzard should take their time so that Shadowlands can meet expectations. Like MeinMMO reader Cameltoetem:
If it helps to make the addon better, I find it good. If it were up to me, it could come out in spring.
Sina thinks that Blizzard is on a good path back to old virtues:
In the past, Blizz generally stated: ‘It’s done when it’s done …’ – I think that’s very good. (…)
I think that with Blizz and also with others – if they would actually do it – that’s generally a good attitude. Releasing half-baked stuff has often backfired and the reputation goes down the drain.

What the mixed voices say
Some – namely 22% of the votes – see both pros and cons. Especially in light of the fact that we are currently experiencing the cursed year 2020, there is a relative calm.
Threepwood writes:
I find it a shame and hope that they can manage it this year. Especially during the darker season and end of the year, WoW is part of it for me. If necessary, I’m also fine with the pre-patch, hunting skins and PvP.
And if they don’t finish it, it just seamlessly fits into the miserable year of 2020. It doesn’t really matter anymore.
From Sven, we hear:
I’m definitely skeptical. Yes, I somehow feel relieved that they’re pulling the emergency brake, so there are probably still some real issues to address. However, the expectations will hardly diminish when they delay the release. But if it only turns out to be “half-awesome”, the community will go crazy.
In the end, we can’t change anything anyway; we can only accept and hope for the best.

What the negative voices say
However, 19% of the votes who are rather opposed to the delay have also given some feedback.
Marcel says:
The delay is crap. Once again, the loud minority of crying wannabes have been listened to. My condolences to everyone who has already taken vacation and looked forward to the release (including myself).
Sick0w sees things even more drastically:
It’s nothing new that Blizzard is too incompetent to finish their work on time. Of course, they can now use Corona as an excuse, but to be honest, BFA was anything but finished at release. It wasn’t without reason that it was called Beta for Azeroth. Therefore, just sad.
