Vulpera are the big red question mark of WoW: Battle for Azeroth. Should they be playable as an Allied Race?
The Allied Races will be one of the major features of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. However, while players are excited about the Zandalari Trolls and Dark Iron Dwarves, there is a potential race that divides the player base: Vulpera.
These humanoid foxes can meet players in the new zones of Kul Tiras and Zandalar and complete some quests for them. Due to various hints from dataminers, players believe that Vulpera will become a playable race and may join either the Alliance or both factions as an Allied Race.
However, Vulpera have not yet been confirmed as a playable race, even though they possess many traits that would make them suitable for it. Vulpera – hated and loved
The player base is split into two camps regarding the Vulpera, who frequently clash in the forums. While one group has already embraced the fox beings and would like to buy ten character customizations to turn all existing characters into Vulpera, the other group hopes that the Vulpera will remain a one-time enjoyment.
The disputants are escalating in the forums, and the lines are hardening.
The main argument of the critics is that Vulpera are in no way rooted in the lore of World of Warcraft. While Pandaren at least made an appearance in Warcraft 3, nobody has ever heard of Vulpera. For many players, this is a clear sign that Blizzard wants to use the “cuteness factor” to lure more “cuddle fans” into the game.
Proponents note that Azeroth has always been full of things that have never been shown before. Therefore, it would be logical and sensible to see previously unknown species on the two continents of Battle for Azeroth.

Cortyn says: Honestly, I currently see myself more on the side of the critics. To me, Vulpera simply do not fit into the existing factions of Alliance and Horde – purely from an aesthetic standpoint. Whether Blizzard can deliver at least a meaningful lore explanation for this race remains to be seen. If it were up to me, Vulpera should happily stay where they are: on an island and not playable as characters.
