More details about the requirements for Allied Races in WoW are known. We reveal which character needs the achievements.
One of the biggest features of the upcoming expansion for World of Warcraft, Battle for Azeroth, will be the Allied Races. Horde and Alliance will each be expanded with three new species that are available as playable characters. While the Alliance will have Dark Iron Dwarves, Void Elves, and Lightforged Draenei, the Horde will gain Zandalari Trolls, Nightborne, and Highmountain Tauren.
Throughout Battle for Azeroth, more races are expected to ally with the Alliance or Horde, likely to be added in content patches.
But how does the unlocking of the Allied Races actually work?
From the past weeks, we already know that the various races have special requirements to be unlocked. For instance, players must have a revered reputation with the Nightborne and have completed the “Uprising” achievement, meaning: The complete story of Suramar.
Requirements for Allied Races are cross-faction
However, players speculated whether the requirements are faction-specific. Since the Nightborne end up with the Horde, it would be logical for a Horde character to also have the corresponding reputation to unlock the Nightborne as an Allied Race. However, this is not the case.
If you have completed the requirement (Revered Reputation + Achievement) on an Alliance character, this also applies to the Horde side. However, the introductory quest line for the Nightborne must be completed with a Horde character – regardless of whether that character has completed the reputation or achievement.
