There are many immoral quests in World of Warcraft. But one requires you to go to the most wicked place in Azeroth.
New quests are regularly unlocked in World of Warcraft, especially during recurring events. These have been revised and expanded over the past year. The event “Love is in the Air” has also been updated and received some new missions.
However, one of these quests requires players to perform an act for which you are always generously warned in the trade channel of most realms: spending a night in Goldshire.
What kind of quest is this? The task “The Gift of Self-Love” is part of the revamped “Love is in the Air” event. As an Alliance character, you can accept the mission on certain days at the gates of Stormwind from the Pandaren “Ying”. He even lets you choose how you want to complete the quest. You can choose between something “delicious”, “a challenge”, or “a nap”.
If you choose a nap, the quest takes you to the next location: Goldshire. You are to spend a night at the inn there.
Why is this so “bad”? The quest is, of course, to be taken with a wink. However, especially on roleplay realms like “Moonguard”, “Argent Dawn”, or “The Aldor”, the Lion’s Den, the inn in Goldshire, is a famously notorious place.
Because there, the kind of role players who you otherwise wouldn’t meet in the rest of the world usually gather, and who are mainly interested in one specific type of roleplay – eRP, or “erotic roleplay”.
Anyone who lingers there too long is quickly confronted with questionable whisper requests, and if you also have an RP addon to read other players’ character descriptions, you can feast your eyes on all sorts of “creative” descriptions and body shapes.
Why has Goldshire become so decadent? It is probably easy to explain why Goldshire has become the den of mating-crazed roleplay players. Firstly, the location is already in the starting area of the humans and is easily accessible even for test accounts. Secondly, an inn provides a simple entry point to initiate any type of roleplay.
If you are truly interested in roleplaying in World of Warcraft, you should avoid Goldshire and only visit the inn when necessary for quests. Otherwise, one might think that RP in World of Warcraft revolves solely around such themes – which would be quite a shame. It would also cast a false light on all the great RP projects that take place on the realms year after year.
By the way, spending a night in Goldshire is worth 10 Love Tokens – let’s hope these are the only “Love Tokens” you collect during your visit there.
