The player base of World of Warcraft is unhappy. Because some of the coolest mounts might not even be available in Europe – you need American friends.
When it comes to mounts, players of World of Warcraft don’t joke around. No wonder, after all, mounts are among the most beautiful prestige items in World of Warcraft. It’s all the more bitter when some mounts are not available in certain countries. That’s exactly what it looks like right now – at least that’s what some leaks suggest.
What was discovered? A few days ago, a user on the WoW subreddit showed images of an upcoming promotion. The beverage manufacturer Mountain Dew is apparently collaborating with Blizzard to launch two special variants of the drink.
This promotion is very likely related to special mounts. Since Mountain Dew is primarily distributed in the USA, it’s likely that Europeans will be left out.
What mounts are involved? Many months ago, a series of motorcycles was found in the game data of World of Warcraft that blaze in demonic or void-infused colors. The data miners from wowhead have already extracted the images:
What’s particularly striking about this is: The colors of the motorcycles match exactly with the colors of the “Mountain Dew” packaging.
Why is this not available in Germany? In Germany – or generally in Europe – Mountain Dew is not as widely available. If at all, only the standard flavor exists. Additionally, the site for redeeming points (which one gets by purchasing Mountain Dew) only allows visitors from the USA, as stated in the terms of service of the site. Therefore, it is possible that the codes can only be redeemed by US accounts. Accordingly, first memes are already being created expressing regret over this:
In the “best” case, you can ask friends from the USA for help – in the worst case, there is no chance of obtaining the motorcycles in Europe.
Keep in mind that this information has not yet been confirmed and it is only about theories and logical conclusions. Perhaps there will be an option to acquire these mounts outside of the United States – even if it’s only a few months later as part of the trading post.
