As soon as you meet certain requirements in WoW Dragonflight, Herald Flaps visits you and gives you the quest “To the Dragonflight Fortress!” What you need to do next is not entirely clear to many players. MeinMMO explains it to you.
What kind of quest is this? “To the Dragonflight Fortress!” starts the event “Siege of the Dragonflight Fortress”. In the endgame event, you receive powerful loot once a week, which you should definitely secure.
You receive the quest from Herald Flaps as soon as you reach Glory Level 5 with the Valdrakken Accord. This should be the case after completing the campaign and possibly some side quests or dungeons.
This is how you complete the quest: The quest then leads you to the Coast of Awakening. However, it may not show you exactly where you need to go, and you only get the reference: “Complete the siege around the Dragonflight Fortress.”
However, the event only starts every other hour. A timer should be visible on your map, indicating when the event starts again. If you see no timer, just remember that the siege starts every 2 hours on the hour – possibly with a few minutes delay.
The actual start is a bit south of the fortress, where the icon can be found on the map (coordinates: 30/78). You will find the NPC “Boss” there and some dragonkin surrounding him, as well as a cart being pulled by a toad.

Siege of the Dragonflight Fortress – Event and Quest
In order to complete the quest “To the Dragonflight Fortress,” you must finish the event. The scenario is divided into several steps that you must complete one after the other:
- escort the cart to the fortress – protect it from attackers and feed the toad with snails
- set up a camp – for this you need to interact with the silhouettes in the base
- kill enemy forces and officers
- kill the leaders of the enemies
Theoretically, you can complete the event alone since the NPCs help you. However, it may take a long time. It’s best to find a group or even a raid through the group finder.
The scenario can be completed in the raid. However, it may be that you do not get progress for the corresponding quest. “To the Dragonflight Fortress!” is just a hint for you that something is happening at the coast and rewards you with a few gold pieces.
It may happen that the event gets stuck at certain points. Some players report that there can still be bugs that prevent progress. It’s best to look for open groups in the group finder that are currently completing the event – or wait an hour for the next event.
