The new content of Patch 9.1 from World of Warcraft is being released piece by piece. But how long do we have to wait? What is coming when? Our comprehensive overview helps.
The Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination is finally live after long months of waiting. However, not all content is available right at launch. This is primarily due to the Fame system, which gradually unlocks story chapters and other content, allowing players to look forward to something new each week. The system is somewhat controversial in the community, as “timegating” is seen by many as just a frustrating factor.
We have prepared a list for you with all the content launching in the upcoming weeks. This way, you’ll always know exactly what you can tackle when – and what content you can look forward to.
Week 1: June 30 (Already live!)
- The fundamentals of Patch 9.1 are live. These include all class changes, all adjustments to Torghast, and the new “Mythic+” system.
- Layer 9 of Torghast is available and allows the gathering of Soul Ash to upgrade legendaries to rank 5 and 6.
- Fame up to level 42 is available, granting a new set of Soulbind effects.
- The first chapters of the Covenant campaign are available.
Week 2: July 7
- A new part (3) of the Covenant campaign is available, at the end of which you unlock flying and a special covenant mount.
- Fame can be unlocked up to level 45.
- The raid “Sanctum of Domination” opens on normal and heroic difficulty. The final boss (Sylvanas) will have an accompanying cool cinematic.
- The mega-dungeon “Tazavesh” (mythic only) opens.
- Players can collect Shards of Domination for their gear and use them as loot from the Sanctum of Domination.
- Layer 10 of Torghast will be unlocked and grants even more Soul Ash.
- Season 2 of Shadowlands begins – a new season for PvP and Mythic+ with a new affix.
Week 3: July 14
- The raid “Sanctum of Domination” opens on Mythic. The World First race among the professional guilds begins.
- The first LFR wing of the Sanctum of Domination opens.
- From the Great Vault, players can now obtain upgraded loot from season 2.
- Layer 11 of Torghast opens and grants access to even more Soul Ash.
- At Fame level 48, players can unlock a covenant-specific legendary.
- Fame level 48 is the maximum achievable.
- Part 4 of the Covenant campaign is available.
Week 4: July 21
- Layer 12 of Torghast will be unlocked and grants access to even more Soul Ash.
- Fame can be collected up to level 51. New features for Soulbinds and a stamina increase await.
- Part 5 of the Covenant campaign is available.
Week 5: July 28
- Fame can be collected up to level 54 and unlocks the last feature for most Soulbinds.
- The second LFR wing of the Sanctum of Domination opens.
- Part 6 of the Covenant campaign is available.
Week 6: August 4
- Fame can be collected up to level 57. The last features for the remaining Soulbinds are unlocked.
- Part 7 of the Covenant campaign is available.
Week 7: August 11
- Fame can be unlocked up to level 60. A stamina increase, a higher item level through World Quests, and improved media for some Soulbinds await.
- The third LFR wing of the Sanctum of Domination opens.
- Part 8 of the Covenant campaign is available.
Week 8: August 18
- Fame can be unlocked up to level 63. Improved media for more Soulbinds are available.
- The last part of the Covenant campaign is available.
Week 9: August 25
- Fame can be unlocked up to level 65, which unlocks another set of improved media.
- The last LFR wing of the Sanctum of Domination opens, allowing players to face Sylvanas here as well.
What’s coming next? By early September, Patch 9.1 should keep players entertained. After that, there will only be a handful of new unlocks, such as additional Anima bonuses or cosmetic rewards. By October, all players should trickle in at Fame level 80 and slowly but surely look towards the next content update, for which there will surely be first information.
