The pre-patch of WoW: Shadowlands removes some cool equipment from the game. Now is the last chance to get the templates.
The big pre-patch 9.0 is expected to be released next week, ushering in the era of World of Warcraft Shadowlands. However, there are not only new features with the patch, but also some content will be lost. As the user macrotransactions noted in the WoW subreddit, some templates are disappearing. They will then (for now) no longer be available.
These are the transmog templates: In the expansion “Warlords of Draenor”, all crafting professions could create several visually matching sets. The items could then be further upgraded afterward. This not only provided better attributes but also a new appearance. This includes items with this appearance, as wowhead has compiled:
Why is this disappearance occurring? So far, you get these transmog templates by upgrading old items from Warlords of Draenor with various crafting professions. However, with patch 9.0, the professions are being overhauled and will scale differently. This means many old “upgrade items” will be removed and will no longer be needed. In the case of Warlords of Draenor, some unique templates are tied to this that will fall victim to this overhaul.
Is Blizzard changing anything else? Yes, but not for an unknown time. Blizzard has responded quickly to the complaints and has already replied. According to them, there are plans to make the items available again in a future patch. However, it is still unclear when exactly this “future patch” will take place. Whether it will be patch 9.1, 9.2, or a completely different patch remains to be seen.
Collectors and “completionists” should hurry, as patch 9.0 is probably only a few days away – even if it has likely been delayed.
