In World of Warcraft you can find players around every corner of Azeroth. The world is more lively than it has been in a long time.
In World of Warcraft, there has been a powerful XP buff active for a few days now. Currently, there is a 100% bonus on all gained experience points, which drastically speeds up leveling. As many people have to stay home and turn to video games, this dire situation has a wonderful effect for WoW and Azeroth: The game world is more alive than it has been in a long time.
Lots of praise in the community: Overall, the XP buff has been received extremely positively by players, which is especially evident in the subreddit. Every few hours a new thread pops up on the topic. It is repeatedly emphasized how great it is to encounter players everywhere in the game world. Here is an example from Brill, where several players are currently in the starting area – most in the background with their chopper, a “Twink-Mount”:

Actually, these areas are like deserted and only a handful of players roam around the entire zone.
Apparently, many players previously did not have the inclination to spend time on Twinks. But the current world situation and the experience points buff mean that you can meet players around every corner.

Thanks to Blizzard for doing this. I like secondary characters but can’t afford boosts. And leveling alone, even when I chose not to play in a group, seemed boring. I normally can’t last longer than an hour. Today I logged in and just wanted to level a bit. Every area felt alive with many players and I had fun leveling, even though I didn’t interact much with other players. The day flew by.
I just wanted to say this: Thanks for this experience, Blizzard and all of you.

Cortyn says: I can only agree with the opinions on Reddit. In the last three days, I “casually” leveled a Paladin to level 70 through quests and was amazed at how many other players I encountered. Meeting players in the areas of Battle for Azeroth is the norm. But in the old leveling areas of the “classic” world or even in Outland, that was a novelty for me. I was long used to being virtually alone.
But in pretty much all quest hubs, I meet players or actually have to wait a few seconds for the respawn of a quest mob because it was just killed.
In other words: Right now, there is a lot going on in all areas of Azeroth. There is hardly a better time to start as a newcomer or for veterans to level up a Twink for the release of Shadowlands. Because that is really fun.
