The Fairy Drakes of Tirisfal
Our last secret also takes us back to Tirisfal. Far to the west of the zone, there is an area that, according to the map, should only be rugged mountains – but that is not the case. There is a complete forest with a striking glowing circle formation made of mushrooms. Most of the time, not much happens in this forest, but every half hour fairy drakes begin to spawn. Once all seven fairy drakes are present, they fly to the mushroom circle and channel a spell. Anyone who wishes can loot a music roll for the garrison from the center of the spell – it contains the same song that is played during the fairy drakes’ ritual.
But there is more happening. Gradually, more and more animals, especially deer and stags, appear, slowly moving (as if hypnotized) towards the circle and then standing still to watch. Among them are not just “ordinary” animals, but only those that have been ravaged by the plague or that possess demonic, green eyes.
As soon as the song ends, the fairy drakes also disperse in all directions – just like the rest of the wildlife.
What purpose do the fairy drakes serve? What lies “beneath” the circle? Why does it attract the animals of the forest (even the deformed and corrupted ones)? We will probably never find out. And perhaps that’s for the best.
