The latest expansion for World of Warcraft has a release date. The War Within kicks off in August.
For months, there has been much speculation about when the expansion The War Within for World of Warcraft will be released. After all, an initial look at the beta shows that development appears to be very advanced. Now Blizzard has announced the release date, which is much earlier than most had thought. Already in August.
When is the release of World of Warcraft: The War Within? The release of WoW: The War Within will take place on August 26, 2024 – in less than 3 months. Due to the time difference, the release in Europe is on August 27.
When does Early Access start? Those who pre-order the Epic Edition of The War Within will get – in addition to beta access – earlier access to the finished game, namely Early Access. This has so far been indicated as at least 3 days – but it seems it will be 4 days.
The Early Access for The War Within begins on August 22, 2024 – in Europe likely on August 23 (again due to the time difference).
What’s included in the new expansion? In World of Warcraft: The War Within, there are four new areas and new hero talents that allow you to further customize your character. Additionally, there are War Clans, a cross-account system for most unlocks in the game. Blizzard wants to move away from a character-centric game and transition to recognizing your account achievements, making it easier to switch between different characters.
There are also new Depths for solo fans – an endgame system on par with dungeons and raids, but also interesting for solo players or small groups. All information about The War Within can be found here.
