The Game Director of World of Warcraft is already giving a glimpse of the Alpha of the next expansion “The War Within”. We will tell you when it starts.
At BlizzCon 2023, the next expansion of World of Warcraft was presented. In “The War Within”, the story continues and is just the beginning of the “Worldsoul Saga” – a narrative that will span three expansions. However, one question that immediately burned on everyone’s lips was: When does it start? When can we test it?
The release of the expansion will be in autumn 2024, provided the plans do not change. But the start of the Alpha has already been dated.
When does the Alpha begin? During the “Deep Dive” presentation, Ion Hazzikostas mentioned that he is really looking forward to the feedback from players – and that it is necessary so that the Hero Talents feel good and satisfy everyone. More details will be available as soon as the Alpha starts, which should be “in the spring of next year” – sometime between April and June 2024.
How can you sign up? There is no registration for the Alpha or Beta of World of Warcraft: The War Within yet – with one exception. Those who pre-order the “Epic Edition” of the new expansion for 90 euros will receive guaranteed beta access. However, there is still no set date for this. Since the expansion is supposed to be released by “December 31, 2024” at the latest, the beta period will likely begin in the summer of the year.
So far, it has been common to also sign up for the beta test outside of pre-ordering. As soon as this function is activated – or something new is known – we will, of course, report on it.
