World of Warcraft addresses one of its long-standing complaints. However, not everyone is happy with how the backpack issue is being resolved…
Are you among the players of World of Warcraft who always have full bags, with even the banks bursting at the seams? Then you have probably noticed that the “standard backpack” in World of Warcraft is much smaller than other bags in the game. For example, a Hexweave Bag offers around 30 slots, while the regular backpack only offers 16 slots. The problem: The regular backpack cannot be exchanged.
At the Developer Q&A at BlizzCon, a question was asked that has made it to the developers almost every year:
When will the standard backpack finally be exchangeable?
In the past, the statement was always that this was due to programming issues that are not easy to fix.
Apparently, this has changed in recent weeks, as the developers stated that there will indeed soon be a way to increase the standard backpack.
Larger Backpack – Only with Authenticator
However, there is a catch, and that is the Blizzard Authenticator. The developers want to give players more incentives to use the Authenticator to better protect their game accounts.
The Authenticator is available in both physical and digital forms for smartphones. Once linked to the Battle.net account, you must enter an additional code generated by the Authenticator at each login. This adds another layer of security and makes account theft nearly impossible.
Only those who use the Authenticator will be rewarded with additional inventory slots.
As of now, there is no specific date or exact details on the precise increase of the backpack. We will report on this as soon as this bonus goes live.
