The race for the World First Kill in World of Warcraft is entering its heated phase. Several guilds are at the final boss – and are slowly making progress.
Just over a week ago, the race for the World First Kill of Queen Ansurek in the Mythic Palace of Nerubar began. Although there was the usual discussion about the starting advantage of the US guilds, it has now turned into an exciting race. 4 guilds have reached Queen Ansurek and have already attempted several hundred times. However, victory is still far from any of them.
This is the current status of the race: As of now (September 27, 2024, 11:15 AM), the ranking is as follows, broken down by progress on the last boss Queen Ansurek (via raider.io):
- Liquid (US) – 35.43 % (238 attempts)
- Echo (EU) – 47.77 % (153 attempts)
- Huoguo Hero (CN) – 63.69 % (50 attempts)
- Method (EU) – 64.27 % (84 attempts)
Thus, Liquid currently has a lead of just under 12% and has already seen Phase 3 of Queen Ansurek – something that the other guilds have yet to achieve.
Behind them, at 6/8 bosses, are two Chinese guilds, namely Jitianhong and ZboX, both still quite far from overcoming the Silk Palace and currently playing no significant role in the race for first place. However, this could change if the race continues.
With only 5/8 bosses, other well-known names like Instant Dollars (US) or FatSharkYes (EU) stand. The field is broader here, as almost 20 guilds have now reached 5/8.
How long will the race continue? It’s hard to say in advance. Races are often decided on a Tuesday or Wednesday because there is “fresh loot” for the characters, and performance improves again. There are often buffs and hotfixes that enhance specific classes.
More than 35% of the boss’s health is also still a significant amount of HP that needs to be overcome to secure the kill.
The more practice and routine the professionals have, the further they advance in the fight. Especially, Echo is on the verge of entering the third phase of the boss fight and could soon reduce the gap to Liquid.
The race for the World First Kill is currently as exciting as it has been in a long time. The final battle is not only between two but currently four guilds competing for first place and will surely entertain us for several days.
In the World First Race, players push themselves to their limits – and sometimes exploits are used.
