The pre-event for the WoW expansion Shadowlands begins. We will reveal what you can get.
The Scourge is knocking at the door in World of Warcraft, as the pre-event for Shadowlands starts. This comes with several quests and cool rewards, some of which are really useful. To ensure you don’t miss the main highlights of the pre-event, we’ll tell you what items are available and how you can get them.
What kind of event is this? The pre-event of the new Shadowlands expansion will roll out over the course of two weeks. Each week there are several quests and plenty of repeatable and farmable tasks to do, including daily quests, rare enemies, and a boss.
What do you get rewards for? The main currency is the “Argentum Tribute”. You mainly earn this by completing the new quest line (which automatically appears in your quest log). In addition, there are a set of daily missions that you can complete in Icecrown. These also reward a small amount of Argentum Tribute. Additionally, you can farm undead in Icecrown, including rare enemies. These drop Scourge Stones, which you can exchange for rewards. So if you want, you can spend the entire day collecting Scourge Stones to get all the items.
What items are available? Among the most important items is likely a broom and a pet, as these can only be obtained through the event. They can be purchased from various armor vendors in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Icecrown.
- Anti-Apocalyptic Broom costs 15 Argentum Tribute and can be used to remove plague puddles from the ground. However, the broom does not count as a toy and remains in the inventory.
- Spooky Eitriger costs 20 Argentum Tribute and is a new battle pet. Collectors should not miss out on it.
- In addition, there is a full equipment set for each armor class (cloth, leather, chain, and plate) with item level 100. A single item costs 15 badges, and if you want the whole set – for instance as a transmog template – you will have to pay 135 tributes. The set corresponds to the Warfront set from Arathi, but in a previously unused color scheme.
If you want to have all items with one character, you will need 170 Argentum Tribute. If you want all four sets, the number of necessary tributes increases to 575. It makes sense to play the event with multiple characters.
What else is there in the pre-event?
Rare loot from rare enemies: In addition to the items mentioned above, there are also some special items that can be left by rare enemies. The rare mobs are bosses from the “Wrath of the Lich King” era. Most items are not particularly interesting, but two of them should be highlighted:
- Bronjahm can drop Papa’s like-new bag. This is a unique bag with 34 slots – the largest currently available in the game.
- Cursed memento can be dropped by all rare enemies. This item causes a ghost from Torghast to occasionally appear, following the character.
You can also fight Nathanos Blightcaller in the Eastern Plaguelands once a week. This rewards you with a cinematic that you shouldn’t miss.
Is there more? Yes. Aside from the items you can obtain by fending off the Scourge, there is also a zombie event happening at the same time. Players can become undead and attack other players to infect them. If they are not healed quickly enough, they will also end up as a zombie after a short incubation period of the plague. This promises two weeks of chaos in the capital cities of Stormwind and Orgrimmar, but it should also be quite a fun endeavor.
How long does the pre-event last? The event is available from November 11 to November 23. It ends at midnight – precisely when the daily reset on November 24 marks the official launch of the “Shadowlands” expansion. So you have just under two weeks to gather all rewards.
