A new armor set in Patch 8.1 of WoW has fans hoping. Will this be the Heritage Armor of the Blood Elves?
With the upcoming Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance, there are some new features in World of Warcraft. Data miners have been busy reading the game data for a while now, and many changes can already be seen on the PTR. A new set of equipment thematically fitting to the Blood Elves is being introduced.
Fancy clothing for Blood Elves: A new armor set comes in the typical Blood Elf colors: red, gold, and black.
In addition, there are a few green crystals that remind of the Fel, which served as a mana source for Blood Elves for several years. Visually, the set would likely fit all armor classes, with the helm only giving an impression of chain or plate.

In addition to the armor itself, there is also a thematically fitting shield and a glaive.
Purpose of the armor still unknown: At this point, it is not confirmed that this armor is the Heritage Armor of the Blood Elves, which Blood Elves and Dwarves will receive with Patch 8.1.
The armor is named “Blood Elf Guard Armor” – so “Armor of the Blood Elf Guards”. It is possible that Blizzard will replace the old “Spellbreaker” model of the Blood Elves and swap it for the new models of the Blood Elves with fancier clothing.

The presence of weapons and shields also argues against it being a “Heritage Armor,” as these have not come with a matching weapon set for other races.
Community actively discussing: The community is still divided on what to think of this set. Some players hope it is indeed the Heritage Armor, while others criticize the armor set. “It looks like a green quest set” or “it doesn’t fit the lore of the Blood Elves at all” can be read multiple times in the comments.

Possible Warfront model: Another theory is that the armor model will be used in a future Warfront. After all, data miners have already found information that Silvermoon, the home of the Blood Elves, might become a Warfront.
How do you like the new “Armor of the Guards” of the Blood Elves? Was it time to spruce it up? Or should the classic Spellbreaker model have been kept? Should this also be the Heritage Armor?
