One of the most famous players of World of Warcraft is getting his own Hearthstone card. The legendary “Doubleagent” will soon be making waves.
Hearthstone is often a slightly more relaxed version of the Warcraft universe, filled with many little references and jokes that have been in World of Warcraft for many years. With the latest expansion “Divided in Alterac Valley”, this tradition continues. For one of the most well-known Pandaren players from World of Warcraft is now getting his own card: Doubleagent.
Who is Doubleagent? Most players should already be familiar with the Pandaren Doubleagent, as we’ve reported on him from time to time over the past few years. Doubleagent was the first Pandaren to set out to reach the maximum level – without joining the Horde or the Alliance. This is done by never leaving the starting island as a Pandaren.
Once all quests are completed, players can still earn some XP through daily pet battle quests. Then it’s just a matter of picking herbs and mining ores, which provide a very small amount of XP each time. An endeavor that takes many, many weeks of gameplay.
Over the years, “Doubleagent” has found many imitators who also visited him on the Pandaren starting island and emulated him. So now there are neutral Pandaren on many realms who, while theoretically could participate in WoW’s endgame, practically belong to no faction.
What kind of card is this in Hearthstone? In the latest Hearthstone expansion “Divided in Alterac Valley”, Doubleagent now receives an honor, as one of the new rogue cards is a clear reference to him. It is named “Double Agent” and shows a Pandaren tearing the tabard of the Horde – for underneath lies a tabard of the Alliance. His “flavor text” then explains: “And under the tabard of the Alliance? Another tabard of the Horde.”
In the game, he is a 3/3 minion for 3 mana, who summons another copy of himself as a battle cry, provided the player has at least one card from another class in hand.
By the way, Doubleagent was previously immortalized in World of Warcraft. In the Monk Order Hall, you can occasionally see his character bustling around in the background as he mines for ores.
