The game data has already revealed how WoW: Legion will end. Those who want to know can read more here!
The dataminers are diligently sifting through all the game data from Patch 7.3, filtering out all the information the game has to offer. It seems they have stumbled upon true gold and can already guess how World of Warcraft: Legion will end.
So we warn you: A lot of spoilers ahead!
The Pantheon – Friend or Foe?
It was recognized early on that we would encounter the Titan on Argus in one way or another. They are even listed as bosses in the raid “Antorus, the Burning Throne,” but not all of them are enemies. Eonar’s soul appears to still be good and pure, but is to be corrupted by Sargeras, as he has done with other Titans. According to Magni Bronzebeard, who studies the souls of the Titans, they are suffering. Golganneth, Khaz’goroth, Norgannon, and Aman’thul are being tormented and tortured. Aggramar is even on Sargeras’ side and wants to corrupt Eonar!
- “Aggramar! The fallen Titan now serves Sargeras! That’s bad… VERY bad!”
- “Sargeras is creating a kind of Dark Pantheon! We need to find Eonar’s spirit before Aggramar does!”
Illidan Guards Sargeras
Particularly exciting are some quotes that speak of a final end to the Burning Crusade. Sargeras is supposed to be imprisoned in the Chamber of the Pantheon for all time – with Illidan as his guard. This aligns with a common fan theory that Illidan will stop the Legion and sacrifice himself (as is fitting for a demon hunter) to put an end to the Legion.
- “We will use the last spark of Argus’ power to bind him here. The seat of the Pantheon will be Sargeras’ prison… and ours as well.”
- “Illidan serves as the jailer for the dark Titan. His sacrifice has ended the Legion. After a long time, the Burning Crusade… is over.”
There is a certain irony that Illidan will henceforth be the “guardian” of Sargeras – given that he himself was imprisoned by Maiev for several millennia.
However, this at least provides the opportunity for Sargeras to be freed again – because Warcraft without the Burning Legion would be strange.
Whether all this will really happen remains to be seen. So far, the text passages are still quite loose and without context, making the associations only made “by feeling.” A cinematic with a dramatic twist is also not to be ruled out.
All the quotes extracted can be found in the original English on wowhead (see sources).
But let’s assume that everything will come to pass: Do you think it’s good that the Burning Legion is “finally defeated”? Or is Blizzard missing out on many possible conflicts of the future?
By the way, after this, it’s off to Kul Tiras – at least if the leaks are correct!
