The beta of the first expansion of WoW Classic has started. We tell you how you can participate and what there is to experience.
Many players are longing for new content in WoW Classic. After all, the release of Naxxramas was several months ago. But Blizzard has promised to deliver, and they are keeping that promise. The beta for the first expansion of WoW Classic has started, and the first players are already battling through the shattered world.
What is Burning Crusade Classic all about? The beta version of “Burning Crusade Classic” has started. This is the first expansion of World of Warcraft Classic. It raises the character level to 70, introduces the shattered world as a new continent, and adds Blood Elves and Draenei as new races.
How can I see if I’m in? You can easily check this in your Battle.net client. Just go to the game page for WoW and see which versions are available to you. If you find “Beta: Burning Crusade Classic” under the “In Development” section, you can download the client and start playing right away – the servers are already live.
Be aware that there are no “keys” for access to the beta, but only a direct unlocking of the respective accounts. Dubious sellers repeatedly try to exploit the ignorance of beta-hungry players to gain money or accounts. Please don’t fall for such tricks. The beta access is only available directly from Blizzard.
What content can be played? The beta will gradually provide new content. At the beginning, you can level the character up to level 64 and thus only complete quests and content from the suitable zones. This likely includes Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh, and the forests of Terokkar.
Currently, PvP modes are not included. Also, interface addons are not allowed at this time. You will have to play with WoW’s standard interface.
How can you sign up? If you haven’t signed up for the beta yet, you can still do that now. In a post, we explain how exactly the registration for the beta works. It only takes a few clicks.
When does the release take place? There is still no specific date for the official release of Burning Crusade Classic. Speculation suggests a start in May or June. Currently, there are still a number of bugs and issues in the beta, which the developers are aware of. Since there has been no firm announcement yet, there should be enough time to refine Burning Crusade so that it looks really good even over 14 years after the first release.
