The best quest in WoW: Dragonflight is still locked. You must master the new raid to see it.
The Patch 10.2 Guardian of Dreams has brought many new quests to World of Warcraft. Most of them revolve around Amirdrassil, the new World Tree that grows in the Emerald Dream. However, the quest line can only be completed fully after visiting the raid “Amirdrassil, Hope of Dreams”.
And here awaits all lore fans and especially night elves a quest line that they will likely remember for a long time.
Spoiler Warning: This is about the final quest steps of the campaign around Amirdrassil and the Emerald Dream.
After Fyrakk has been defeated, Amirdrassil fully blooms and Azeroth gives the dragons back their Aspect powers. Even though this cinematic is mocked in some places, the quest line continues significantly afterward.
Due to the blooming, Amirdrassil has transitioned from the Emerald Dream into the physical world of Azeroth.
The quest now features a grand initiation celebration, where the night elves and numerous inhabitants of Azeroth come together to honor the new tree at a celebration and then create a moonwell that will become the center of the tree.
The celebration is grand. Really grand. Over 200 NPCs are gathered here and many of them can be talked to. You will encounter night elves from all possible eras of the game. So it may be that you see some elves from the starting area of Darnassus, the most varied moon priestesses from all over Kalimdor, and many, many other quest givers whom you might have last consciously encountered over 10 years ago.
But not only famous night elves are here, but pretty much everything that has rank and name in World of Warcraft – it’s not just about great heroes, but also about small, rather inconspicuous NPCs that perhaps appeared in a side quest.
The real highlight, however, are the great cutscenes in in-game graphics, along with the speeches from Tyrande, Merithra, and Ysera. Especially night elf fans will likely have a lump in their throat here and finally feel a sense of closure that they have been waiting for since Battle for Azeroth.
This quest is a really worthy finale and a grand conclusion to this storyline of the night elves and the story of Dragonflight itself.
I recommend taking the time for the quest and talking to all the NPCs. Almost all of them have interesting perspectives or you will every time have a little “Ah, that was it!” moment.
When can solo players play the quest? To complete the quest, it is essential to defeat Fyrakk in the new raid. So if you don’t want to join a fixed group and only attend the LFR version of the raid, you will have to wait until December 13, because only then the final wing will open in the LFR variant.
However, it should be noted that the normal version of the raid is surprisingly easy this time – most players who at least read a guide should do well even with a group from the looking-for-group tool.
