It is going into the hot phase for World of Warcraft Dragonflight. The alpha test has started and the first invitations have already been sent out.
Another expansion of World of Warcraft is supposed to be released in 2022. Time is running out for an alpha or beta test… but now it is finally happening. The developers have announced that the alpha of Dragonflight begins today, on July 14, 2022.
How can you participate? If you’re among the lucky chosen ones, you can easily check in the Battle.net launcher. Select World of Warcraft and open the drop-down menu right under “Game Version & Account.” If you already have access to the alpha, you should see the menu entry “Alpha of Dragonflight” there. Select this and click “Install” to download the alpha version of the new WoW expansion.
What’s included in the alpha? Blizzard has announced that there will be “targeted tests” during the alpha, meaning that only specific content will be available. Initially, it will be “The Azure Span” as well as the new Dracthyr Evoker class. Other areas will come in the following weeks. This way, Blizzard aims to gather focused feedback on individual game areas.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get immediate access to the latest expansion. Typically, Blizzard sends access in waves, and over time, the number of invitations increases.
When is the official release? There is currently no firm release date for WoW: Dragonflight. However, Blizzard has already indicated during the pre-sale of the game that Dragonflight is to be released in 2022, so no later than December 31, 2022. However, it is likely that the actual release will happen a few weeks earlier. Once there is reliable information about this, we will, of course, report about it on MeinMMO.
