The Lightforged Warframe also costs a whopping 500,000 gold coins, making it essentially equal to the Palehide Direhorn. However, since you also need an exalted reputation with the Army of the Light for the warframe, the requirements are a bit “higher”, which is why we placed the armor in 3rd place.
In contrast to the dino, the warframe is a rather exclusive mount because there are no others with its direct model.
No matter where you show up with it, you make a mighty impression. Feel free to check out the special animation of the warframe on the ground (“/mountspecial”) – because then the armor fires several salute shots into the sky.
Rank 2: Golden Regal Scarab
Cost: 1,200,000 Gold
Vendor: Miss Xiulan (Valdrakken, Dragon Isles)
You have to talk to Miss Xiulan in Valdrakken and click through her dialogues for her to show you her exclusive offer – and that includes a golden scarab. Considering how expensive it is, it will probably be made entirely of gold.
It definitely makes an impression – but if you can’t stand creepy-crawlies, you’re likely to steer clear of this very expensive bug.
Note that you can only obtain this scarab for a short time. Miss Xiulan will disappear with the launch of the new expansion “The War Within”, along with her offer.
If you’re lucky, you might still snag the scarab at the black market auction house afterwards – but probably at a significantly higher price.
Rank 1: Bloodfang Widow
Cost: 2,000,000 Gold
Vendor: The Crazy Vendor (Dalaran, Broken Isles)
Being rich and simultaneously loving spiders is probably a rather rare combination. Yet that’s exactly what you need if you want to own the noblest and most expensive of the current gold mounts in World of Warcraft.
As if the very exclusive price of 2 million gold weren’t enough, there’s another hurdle when purchasing this spider. The Crazy Vendor is not always available. Instead, he has a random spawn timer. As soon as someone buys something from him, only a few minutes remain before he packs up his shop and disappears.
So you not only have to gather the gold – but also spend quite some time waiting for the vendor to appear.
Do you own one or even several of these mounts? Did you farm the gold yourself, acquire it through WoW tokens, or did your guild simply pay for it? For other mounts in World of Warcraft, you can pay even more money. Because a whopping 4,300 Euros was paid by someone for the most expensive mount of all time.
