The 4th season of World of Warcraft Shadowlands has started and does a few things differently. We’ll tell you what you need to know.
The final phase of the lifespan of World of Warcraft Shadowlands has begun. With today’s maintenance (03.08.2022), the 4th and thus final season of the current expansion starts.
Since there is no fundamentally new content, Blizzard has instead come up with a few changes to bring some fresh air to the Shadowlands in the last months before the release of the new expansion Dragonflight. We will reveal what the developers have planned for Season 4 of Shadowlands.
What dungeons are available? Unlike previous seasons of Shadowlands, Blizzard is doing things differently this time. The dungeons from the current expansion play only a minor role, as most instances in the “Mythic+” game mode come from previous expansions. The pool of 8 dungeons for Season 4 is:
- Tazavesh: Wondrous Streets
- Tazavesh: Soleah’s Grand Design
- Mechagon: Scrap Yard
- Mechagon: Workshop
- Upper Karazhan
- Lower Karazhan
- Grimrail Depot
- Iron Docks
Affix: Stealth, Fated Raids and Dinars
This is the new affix “Stealth”: In addition to the significantly changed pool of dungeons, there is also a new affix called “Stealth”. This affix allows you to choose a secondary stat at the beginning of each run, which you can then receive as a buff during the dungeon. To do this, you must defeat the dreadlords that have mixed in with the normal inhabitants of the dungeons. By doing this, you receive the corresponding enhancement and can proceed even more efficiently – the effect is even stackable.
What changes in the raid? Blizzard has also come up with something new for raids. All three raids will become relevant again and will be rotated with new affixes that differ from boss to boss. The currently active raid is “Fated” – its difficulty is then increased, but the rewards are also significantly better.
The rotation is:
- Week 1: Castle Nathria
- Week 2: Sanctum of Domination
- Week 3: Tomb of Sargeras
Then the cycle starts over. Later in the season, all raids should be “fated” at the same time.
This also comes with the new currency “Confusing Dinar of the Cartel”. You can earn this through a weekly quest, but a maximum of 3 throughout the entire season! The dinars can be specifically exchanged for raid items that you can purchase from new vendors in Oribos, near the main treasury.
How long will Season 4 last? This is still not quite clear, but probably until shortly before the release of the new expansion Dragonflight. Dragonflight has not yet received a concrete release date, but it is already known that the addon should be released by December 31, 2022 – so still this year. The developers have emphasized multiple times that they are “on track.”
