Today, the “Turbo Boost” event has started in World of Warcraft. We reveal what changes for you.
The second season of the current expansion The War Within has been live for several months now, and slowly but surely, one gets tired of everything. However, if you want to scrape a little more performance out of your characters and tackle some tougher content in World of Warcraft, you can do so now. Because from today (Wednesday, 14.05.2025), the Turbo Boost is live. We reveal what changes.
Tokens – The new dinars for loot selection
You can take on a new quest, for which you must either defeat 4 raid bosses from the liberation of Lorenhall or complete 4 dungeons of the difficulty “Mythic+” in order to receive a token. Tokens are basically the dinars of The War Within and allow for targeted purchases of equipment.
At advisor Wrexxel in Dornogal, near the large treasure chamber, you can then exchange your tokens for selected items from the raid or Mythic+ dungeons.
Note that in the first week, you receive one token, and then one more in the fourth and seventh week, as long as you complete the quest regularly. In total, you can choose 3 items.
Higher item level for the best items
The centerpiece of the Turbo Boost is the ability to obtain even stronger equipment. Because all “Hero” and “Mythos” items receive two new upgrade levels, allowing you to increase the item level by another 6 points each time. This should give your characters a noticeable boost – at least if you can gather enough emblems to carry out the upgrades.
By the way, these emblems no longer have a cap. You can farm them as you wish and also exchange lower-level emblems for higher ones.
Something similar applies to crafted equipment. You can have this equipment “recrafted” to increase the item level once again. However, you must buy a reinforcement matrix from the enchanting merchant in Dornogal for this.
Valor stones finally transferable
One of the most important innovations was only decided shortly before the release. You will now have the ability to transfer valor stones between your characters. If your main character is permanently at the cap for valor stones, you can simply send some to your alt characters.
Note that there is a “fee” of 20%. If you send 1,000 valor stones, only 800 will arrive at the destination. However, this is manageable considering how much farm time can be saved on alt characters.
Until when will this last? This “event” will last for the remainder of the season, likely until the release of patch 11.2 and the start of the third season. So you can take your time and benefit from the advantages for as long as you want.
Even more innovations will be coming to World of Warcraft soon, as the developers are working on numerous new game modes. In addition to a new remix, there will soon be a horror mode, which is already being speculated about a lot.
