Even in World of Warcraft, one is not safe from the Star Wars movie – the developers have equipped NPCs with lightsabers!

As of today, the latest Star Wars film “The Force Awakens” is in theaters. However, since the developers of World of Warcraft are just as big geeks and fans of the series, they quickly developed a little hotfix for their game, bringing the Force to Azeroth. For a short time (probably only a few days), the guards of Orgrimmar and Stormwind have put down their usual weapons and exchanged them for stylish lightsabers.
As expected, the Alliance has sided with the Jedi and snatched the blue lightsabers, while the Orcs of the Horde have joined the Sith and wield the red lightsabers to defend their city.
Blizzard had the following to say:
“These are not the guards you are looking for. A strange kind of power has awakened in both factions! We thought we would pay a small tribute to a galaxy far, far away that has been dear to our geek hearts for a long time. Go to Orgrimmar or Stormwind and pay the guards a visit, as they will not be able to maintain their weapons with this unknown technology for long!”
