In the latest addon of World of Warcraft, you can meet Spongebob – including the “Krusty Krab” and hamburgers.
For several days, players of World of Warcraft have been busy in the new expansion The War Within. While some struggle with the now more difficult leveling, others have already reached level 80 and are counting the days until the release of the first season.
However, some are also using the time to explore Khaz Algar and even swim far out to sea – where there are some special features to be found.
Where can you find Spongebob? If you want to take a look at the Easter Egg yourself, you need to go to the island of Thorn and swim northwest into the sea. At the coordinates 24 / 30, you will then dive down and encounter a small gathering of characters.
What is there to see? At first glance, one might easily overlook the Easter Egg, but if you take a look at the strange gathering there with a bit of thought, you can clearly see the references to Spongebob Squarepants and the other characters that appear in the series. After all, they are very close together:
- A yellow sponge (Spongebob)
- A large, pink starfish (Patrick)
- An underwater snail (Gary)
- A crab with a pirate hat (Mr. Krabs) who is currently holding a hamburger
- In the background, there is a large pineapple – Spongebob’s house
The whole thing was discovered by Reddit user sam0wise, who apparently spent quite a while swimming around the new island looking for such little treasures.
Even though World of Warcraft The War Within is a rather serious expansion with quite dark themes, the developers apparently didn’t miss the chance to hide one or two Easter Eggs. Spongebob and his friends are certainly just one of the first that have been discovered. Have you perhaps already found one yourself?
