A new trailer for the MDI in World of Warcraft shows an exciting detail – is there a necromancer skin for Warlocks?
World of Warcraft has released a new trailer. It is meant to build excitement for the new dungeon tournament – and it does succeed. But a small detail fuels the hopes of many fans for a new customization. For a female Warlock looks suspiciously like a necromancer…
What kind of trailer is this? The trailer is for the upcoming “Mythic Dungeon International.” This is essentially the PvE dungeon tournament where the best teams in the world try to conquer absurdly high keystones within the given time. Often, this tournament then defines the new “status quo,” what is afterwards seen as the optimal group. But even the performance shown there is remarkable, and for all who enjoy “Mythic+” there are some tricks and tips to learn.
What was shown in the trailer? The trailer is basically a polished version of a dungeon run. It shows how several heroes arrive at Tazavesh via airship and approach this dungeon. Everything is depicted in a significantly more flawless manner than what the graphics of World of Warcraft allows.
One detail stands out immediately: In the first few seconds, we see a human female in close-up, who wears Warlock attire but has the skin color, eyes, and tattoos of a necromancer – just like many NPCs do in places like the Plaguelands or Scholomance.
Such a customization is currently not possible for player characters. Although the files are present in the game data – after all, they can be used by NPCs – they are not accessible to players.
That this detail is highlighted so prominently makes some players hope that necromancers will soon be a playable class – or at least as a kind of alternative “skin” for the Warlock. This would also align with a leak that speaks of the expansion “Dragonflight”. The leak mentions that some classes will receive alternative skins. Warlocks would be able to become necromancers, while Hunters will get a skin for Dark Rangers.
However, it is also entirely possible that the creator of the video, IKedit, simply allowed himself a bit of artistic freedom here – after all, in the past, he has created many videos about Warcraft, but this time it is a novelty that it is also shown directly by the WoW YouTube channel.
Regardless, the trailer is quite impressive and makes you want to participate in the Mythic Dungeon International – or just visit Tazavesh again.
