In the latest alpha build of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, the new character creation screen can be seen for the first time. This is well received by most players, but also leads to wild speculations.
This is what the new screen looks like: On the night of April 17, a new build for the currently running alpha of Shadowlands was released. This also brought the new character creation.
This is now significantly more compact than before. Instead of displaying all possible options with a preview and cluttering the screen with text, all races and classes can now be seen at a glance. Additional info is available with a right-click. The customization options are divided into several areas with sliders:

The new editor is still in development, which is why races like Kul Tiran and Worgen are not yet visible. Additionally, all of the new character customization options, including the void elves, are missing. None of this can be tried out yet.

Players see mobile in the screen – or consoles
This is what players see in it: In a thread on reddit , some WoW fans have already exchanged thoughts on the new character creation. Many find the implementation great, but lament the lack of story for the races. A setback for role-players.
Some others claim to have discovered hints in the new design. User Enosh25 finds it “too mobile”. User Filnizer says it reminds him of the character creation from the mobile game World of Kings:
In fact, a mobile spin-off of WoW is a wish of the players, but whether this is intended in this form remains questionable.
What does the new UI mean? However, the consideration has also sparked a discussion about whether this is intended more for a console adaptation.
Players find that the new creation looks as though it is designed to provide more comfort to console gamers. Additionally, a controller support for WoW is supposed to be coming.
In 2018, Blizzard almost ruled out a console version of WoW. Therefore, it is more likely that it is simply about a simple modernization and an improvement for accessibility. Both controllers and better visibility can help people with disabilities to pursue their hobby more easily.
