World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has been out for several months now and has brought a wealth of content, including dozens of new mounts. However, some of the mounts that have been found in the files have yet to be obtained by any player.
What are these mounts? According to data miners from wowhead, there are 84 new mounts in WoW Shadowlands, most of which have already been found. Back in June 2020, before release, we introduced you to the new mounts of Shadowlands.
However, some of these rideable mounts have yet to be obtained by any player in the live version. They may be missing either the corresponding achievements, the puzzles have not been solved yet, or they have since been removed from the data.
We present to you four mounts that are said to exist in WoW Shadowlands but have not yet been found. Perhaps you can provide the crucial hint.
1. Slime Serpent
The Slime Serpent is already visible in the game. It moves through the slime pools in the dungeon Plaguefall after the second boss. It is a different color variant of N’Zoth’s black serpent in green and brown tones.
According to Principal Game Designer Muffinus, the serpent should already be in the game and available (via wowhead). Only how to obtain it has yet to be discovered by anyone. Apparently, it is one of the puzzle mounts that requires a series of tasks to be completed.
Fans of these puzzles have gathered in a Discord server to try and crack the riddle. Apparently, Plaguefall plays an important role in this. A video from the beta already shows a player obtaining the serpent in the dungeon:
2. Bonehoof Tauralus
The Tauralus shares a model with the Covenant mount of the Necrolords, which can be earned by defeating the bone carvers there. It is listed as a drop from the rare enemy Tahonta in Maldraxxus.
Although players have reportedly obtained the Tauralus in beta according to wowhead, no one has managed to do so in the live version yet. In WoW, it is still listed as a drop from the rare enemy, but apparently, no one has had that much luck – or there is a secret prerequisite that no one knows. The Necrolords are listed as a covenant in the journal, so perhaps the Tauralus is only available to Necrolords.
Update: MeinMMO reader Elaric reports that the Tauralus drops regularly and that he has already seen it drop from Tahonta. So anyone who wants it should not give up.
3. Deathbringer‘s Flayedwing
The third mount is a type of undead Rylak, a flying creature with two bone heads. It is said to be obtained through the world achievement “Deathbringer”, which, however, does not appear in the achievement overview.
According to wowhead, this is a PvP achievement whose requirements have been removed, making it currently impossible to complete. It may be reintroduced in a later patch, perhaps with the upcoming mini-update.
4. Bonecleaver‘s Skullboar
The last mount on this list reportedly comes from Sabriel the Bonecleaver. Necrolords can unlock it through their animal handler and then challenge it. Sabriel should be able to drop two mounts: the still missing Skullboar and an armored Bonehoof Tauralus that players have already obtained (not to be confused with the normal Bonehoof Tauralus in spot 2 on this list).
For the boar, there is not even an entry in the collection, and its model has also been removed. If one tries to access it, one only sees a white horse. It is quite possible that the boar has completely disappeared from the game and is currently unavailable.
What do you think about the missing mounts? Have you found any of them or are you still searching for them? Leave us a comment, and maybe you can help fill in the missing information about the mounts.
If you want to acquire another new mount, you can now buy the Blizzcon Ice Bear Schneesturm. It is available for Blizzard’s 30th anniversary in a collection with goodies and comes with some cool features.
