Blizzard has finally announced the start of the beta for World of Warcraft Shadowlands. Soon you will be able to dive into the beta – with a bit of luck.
World of Warcraft Shadowlands has been in alpha for quite some time and most content is already available to select streamers and media. Soon Blizzard will open the alpha servers to a larger audience and officially start the beta.
When does the Shadowlands beta start? The beta for World of Warcraft Shadowlands starts next week. The Game Director Ion Hazzikostas revealed this just minutes ago during a livestream.
How to sign up for the beta: If you haven’t signed up for the WoW Shadowlands beta yet, you should do so as soon as possible. You can easily do this on this page. Just log in with your Battle.net account and then click the button “Sign up now”. You will be registered for the beta in no time.
Now all you need is a bit of luck to be able to play and experience Shadowlands before everyone else.
Am I in? If you’re not sure whether you’ve received a beta invite, you can easily check this in your Battle.net account. Simply select the section for WoW and choose the “Game Version” tab. If you’re in, you should be able to select “Beta of Shadowlands”. Then you can install the beta and start your first adventures in the Shadowlands.
What can you test? Most content of the leveling phase can be played. You can thus play the quests and the story of the four leveling areas, including the Bastion and the Ardenweald, although some cutscenes are still missing. These will probably only be available at launch and remain a secret until then. Some quest lines with “secret” endings may not be fully playable yet.
Changes since the Alpha
What’s new in the beta? Unlike the alpha of Shadowlands, quite a lot has changed in the beta. Almost the entire endgame should be playable. This includes:
- World Quests
- The covenants and their features, such as abilities, soul binds, the campaign, and the respective sanctum
- Mythic and “Mythic+” dungeons
- The endgame zone “The Maw”
- PvP with all the new effects
