With the patch for the second week in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, a mechanic that has been in the game since Burning Crusade has been removed: the daily lockout for heroic dungeons. From now on, you can farm these instances as often as you like.
What is changing: With the hotfix on December 2, the daily locks for heroic dungeons in World of Warcraft will be removed. Since these dungeons were introduced in Burning Crusade 13 years ago, players have been able to visit a heroic dungeon intentionally only once per day and receive loot from it.
While it was later possible to theoretically see the dungeons multiple times a day, it was only after all available dungeons had been completed, and then a “random dungeon” was searched for through the group finder. But that could only happen randomly.
What does this mean for me? With this change, you can now farm specific gear that you are still missing. If you urgently need a weapon but have had no luck in heroic or mythic dungeons so far, you can now farm that one dungeon where the item drops.
As mythic dungeons can only be completed once per week until key stone dungeons appear, you can polish your gear again. This is particularly useful if you want to prepare for the raid.
Heroic dungeons are especially one of the ways to get the best gear at the start of the expansion if mythic dungeons do not work out.
Class changes and more in the new hotfix
What else is changing? Along with the change to heroic dungeons, some classes are receiving minor adjustments, primarily focused on bug fixes. Additionally, there are small changes to the covenants of Shadowlands, the dungeons themselves, some areas, and quests.

What’s next? With the second week of Shadowlands, players can craft their first legendary items if they have the necessary materials. Additionally, the covenant campaign continues if you have gained enough reputation with your covenant.
