Patch 9.0 for World of Warcraft finally has a fixed date. In less than two weeks it will begin.
The news of the delay of Shadowlands still weighs heavily on the players of World of Warcraft. After all, the expansion has been postponed to an unknown date. The journey to the Shadowlands is thus postponed for now. But what about the big pre-patch that was supposed to come out soon? It now has a date and will arrive in less than two weeks.
When does Patch 9.0 come out? The major pre-patch 9.0 will be released on October 14, 2020, here in Europe. Due to earlier maintenance work, Americans will get to enjoy the patch a day earlier.
What’s included in Patch 9.0? The patch essentially brings all the major changes to the game systems that would also be active with Shadowlands. This includes:
- The level squish to level 50
- The new leveling phase with “Chromie Time”
- The new starting area “Isle of the Exiled”
- The countless new character customizations
- The disabling of corruption effects
- The overhaul of all classes
Aside from that, there is also the pre-event with the Scourge invasion. However, this will not be available directly from October 14.
When does the pre-event start? There is no exact information on this yet. However, it is certain that the pre-event will not start with the pre-patch on October 14. The event will provide content for a maximum of 2-3 weeks and will likely start when a release of the expansion is foreseeable and a new date has been found.
What to do until the pre-patch? For some things in World of Warcraft, the last chance has come. Some achievements, items, and other content will no longer be available with the launch of the pre-patch or the expansion. Anyone who still wants these rewards should hurry.
Are you at least looking forward to the pre-patch 9.0? Or has your anticipation for Shadowlands drastically decreased due to the delay?
