World of Warcraft: Shadowlands introduces many new features that players will first have to get to know. One of them is just an extension of a well-known feature from the past: the Mission Table. You probably haven’t used it properly until now.
What is this feature? The Mission Table is one of the first things you unlock when you play the campaign of your respective Covenant. It grants you access to various missions (“Adventures”) where your companions can return with experience or loot.
The feature is already known from Warlords of Draenor, where the table was introduced, and has carried through every expansion since. If you wish, you can even start the missions on the go with the WoW Companion App and observe them.
How do I unlock the table? To gain access to the new Mission Table, you first need the corresponding upgrade in your Covenant’s Sanctum. It costs 500 Anima and a Redeemed Soul. It will be unlocked during your Covenant campaign anyway for progress.
From the Mission Table, you can then send your adventurers to complete tasks for you. For the upgrade, you need Redeemed Souls, which you get from weekly tasks.
Finally complete elite adventures
What have I done wrong so far? Now, with the new expansion Shadowlands, the table has received new functions. You need to place your troops, who will then fight against enemies, almost like in an autobattler like Teamfight Tactics.
What many players don’t know: Troops that are not heroes can be placed multiple times. Standard fighters and healers can thus appear more frequently when you pull them from the selection of available troops for your mission.
This is actually explained in the game. However, there are many veterans who know the Mission Table from old expansions and skip the tutorial because of this. After all, these are “familiar” mechanics…
What use is this to me? Many of you have probably wondered why you find so many elite adventures at your Mission Table that are so difficult to complete. With only three or four participants, they are nearly impossible.
Many players assumed that they needed to level their companions or find new ones. But if you just place multiple troops and pay a little attention to positioning, you can easily complete even difficult missions. This way you get better and sometimes even rare rewards.
That this is possible was partly unknown in the community, as you can see from the comments on wowhead. There, the user Silverhistle writes: “Well, that changes everything. People are probably wondering why their elite missions keep failing.”
