World of Warcraft Shadowlands can be pre-ordered in three different versions. The prices vary greatly – as do the contents.
On the night of November 23rd to November 24th, the latest WoW expansion will launch. It is called “Shadowlands” and takes place immediately after the new cinematic, in which Sylvanas fights against the Lich King Bolvar. All content of Shadowlands has been extensively presented here.
Those who wish can already pre-order the latest expansion. But this time, the WoW add-on comes in three different digital variants:
- Base Edition
- Heroic Edition
- Epic Edition
We’ll tell you what’s included in each version.
What is included in the Base, Heroic, and Epic Editions of Shadowlands?
What is included in the Base Edition? The Base Edition costs 39.99€ and is thus comparatively inexpensive. Buyers receive the base game of Shadowlands. Additionally, there are:
- since the release of Patch 8.3 visions of N’Zoth early access to Death Knights for Pandaren and all allied races.
What is included in the Heroic Edition? The Heroic Edition costs 54.99€ and includes all the content of the Base Edition. Additionally, there is:
- A character boost to level 50.
- The flying mount “Enchanted Eternal Wyrm”
- The mount grants a quest that unlocks a special transmog set
What is included in the Epic Edition? The Epic Edition of WoW: Shadowlands costs a hefty 74.99€ and includes all the content of the Heroic Edition plus some extra goodies:
- 30 days of game time
- Pet Animawyrmling
- Hearthstone with “effect of the Eternal Traveler”
- Weapon illusion: Wraithchill

Which version is worth it? If you just want the base game Shadowlands, then the Basic Edition is sufficient. If you are considering wanting a new character at level 50, you should go for the Heroic Edition. If you want all the bonuses and goodies, then pay a little more and spend 75€ on the Epic Edition. Whether the extras justify the additional 35€, everyone has to decide for themselves. You can purchase the three versions at the Blizzard Shop.
This is how the transmog quest works: If you have purchased at least the “Heroic Edition”, you can use the mount Enchanted Eternal Wyrm and receive a quest from it. To do this, you need to click on a sphere on the back of the mount. You can also get the quest from other players, even if you do not own an Eternal Wyrm!
The quest requires you to collect 40 items. These drop from all humanoids in current areas. The drop chance is relatively low, which is why the quest can take a lot of time. It’s best to complete it “on the side” while playing dungeons or other content.
