Do you want to help pretty pets in World of Warcraft and the war-torn people of Ukraine? A special package makes this possible.
In the past, Blizzard has occasionally entered into special collaborations in the event of disasters. Therefore, it is only natural that World of Warcraft is also launching such an offer in the case of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. For nearly a month, you can purchase a special pet package for 20 euros. With the purchase, you support an aid organization that provides humanitarian assistance in Ukraine.
What kind of organization is this? BlueCheck Ukraine was co-founded by actor and activist Liev Schreiber and sees itself as a collective of various experts in the field of humanitarian crisis response.
Specifically, it states:
The mission is to quickly identify, vet, and support Ukrainian grassroots organizations that are doing vital life-saving and humanitarian work on the ground. The organization provides urgent financial assistance to partners who provide medical care and rebuild damaged healthcare facilities, care for orphans and children with special needs and evacuate them, provide food, water, and shelter for people displaced from their homes, assist elderly citizens, and respond to many of the other urgent needs of the war-affected Ukrainian population.

What are these pets? The first pet is Sonni, a small Golden Retriever with (so far) a unique model. Sonni is quite lively, likes to chase its own tail, or take a nap if you stay in one place too long.
The second pet, Flurky, is only available in WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic. It is a blue-yellow Murloc holding a sunflower (the national flower of Ukraine). The little Murloc leaves a sea of colorful flowers on the ground with every step it takes.
How much of the money goes to the organizations? If you purchase the pet package between July 25 and August 29, the entire purchase amount – minus taxes – goes to BlueCheck Ukraine.
Can you still get the pets later? Whether the pets will be available again in the shop at a later date is not entirely clear – but it is conceivable. However, those who want to help a good cause and people in need while also looking for a loyal companion in WoW and WoW Classic should consider buying now.
