The final season of World of Warcraft Dragonflight has started. We will tell you what you should do today.
With the end of today’s maintenance (04/24/2024), the 4th and thus last season of the current expansion in World of Warcraft Dragonflight begins. Once again, all raids and dungeons of the expansion are relevant, and the progress is a little faster than in other seasons.
This is certainly intended, as you will receive strong equipment faster to prepare you for the next expansion ‘The War Within’, which is expected to start in late summer 2024.

New difficulty for all dungeons
The biggest change likely concerns the dungeon system and the related difficulties, as these have been significantly revised by Blizzard. The difficulties of almost all dungeons have been raised considerably, so you will have a solid challenge even in ‘Mythic 0’. This is intended to provide an appealing challenge for those who do not want a time limit, which also brings strong rewards. The difficulties change as follows:
- Normal dungeons: Unchanged
- Heroic dungeons: As difficult as previously ‘Mythic’
- Mythic dungeons: As difficult as previously ‘Mythic +10’
- ‘Mythic +10’ dungeon: As difficult as previously ‘Mythic+20’
This also means that you will now only have to complete Mythic +10 to receive the best possible rewards. However, be aware that only the number has become smaller – the dungeons at ‘Mythic+5’ are as tough as a previous ‘Mythic+15’.
What should you accomplish today? Especially the first weeks of a season are important if you like to go out with random groups. Many quickly set requirements for the item level or the ‘Mythic+’ rating here. If you sleep through a few weeks, you may find no groups anymore. Therefore, you should dive into the content as early as possible to not miss out.
- Complete raids: Visit the raid ‘Vault of the Incarnations’, which is “fateful” enhanced this week. Each week, a different raid is active, and from week 7 all raids are permanently active.
- Visit dungeons: All 8 Dragonflight dungeons belong to the current rotation. Both on ‘Mythic’ and the key stone levels provide a solid challenge and strong rewards, but you should have a well-coordinated group for that.
- Complete world quests: At the start of a new season, the item level of the rewards from world quests is also increased. Check the map more often to see if you discover a solid piece of equipment at a world quest – especially twinks could fill gaps in their gear here.
- Farm flight stones: Depending on what types of content you play in WoW, you might quickly realize that the flight stones are not enough to upgrade your gear. Therefore, you should also complete some world quests to build up a small supply of flight stones and always have enough for the upgrades. Generally, the new seals will be the limiting factor, but it’s always good to have a few hundred flight stones “too many”.
Aside from that, the start of a new season also means that many players return to PvE and therefore rely on lots of potions, flasks, and gems. So if you are an alchemist, jewel crafter, or other craftsman, you should be able to earn some gold pieces easily by selling your goods to the more active heroes.
