The start dates for the big raid “Battle of Dazar’Alor” in World of Warcraft are known. We will tell you when it starts!
Slowly, the PTR of Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance is coming to an end. No wonder, as the update for World of Warcraft will be released next week and expands Kul Tiras and Zandalar with numerous new contents. However, not all parts of the new content will be available immediately. Especially the raid “Battle of Dazar’Alor” will come with a few weeks delay and will not be unlocked right away. Blizzard has now announced the dates for it.
When does the Battle of Dazar’Alor open? As usual, the raid will not be released “in one go”, but in several phases. Especially players in LFR mode will have to wait a while until they can experience all the fights of the new raid.
- January 23, 2019: Normal and Heroic opened
- January 30, 2019: Mythic and Wing 1 (LFR) opened
- February 13, 2019: Wing 2 (LFR) opened
- February 26, 2019: Wing 3 (LFR) opened
Why is the raid coming so late? The late release of the raid has several reasons. On the one hand, Blizzard wants to give players enough time to experience the other new content, such as the Warfront: Darkshore. On the other hand, they do not want to stress players by forcing them into a “Mythic First Kill” race over the holidays, during which many people spend time with their families.
Another reason is likely that the Blizzard developers usually have vacations over the holidays and therefore would not be able to react promptly to issues such as bugs or overly difficult bosses. The release in January takes a lot of pressure off the entire situation.
By the way, you will also fight against Jaina in the raid – even as an Alliance player!
