Thanks to the new loot rules from patch 7.0.3 in World of Warcraft, acquiring the riding turtles has become much easier. We will show you how to do it.
Fishing for Turtles – Easier with 40 People
Among the numerous mounts in World of Warcraft, there are some that are particularly rare. One of them is the riding turtle, which was long obtainable only through the trading card game. After almost a decade, Blizzard has decided to make the turtle accessible in other ways – through fishing in the garrison. Last year, anglers were already able to pull the creature ashore. However, with the new loot regulations from patch 7.0.3, it has become significantly easier!
The requirement is a garrison at level 3 and the achievement Draenor Angler, as well as a fishing hut at level 3. Only then can you fish for the Frostdeep Minnow as a Horde player or the Moonshell Carp as an Alliance player. These fish can be thrown back into the water to summon a Murloc, which can drop the riding turtle and the sea turtle among other loots.
So far, so familiar. However, since patch 7.0.3, the loot rules have changed, meaning that the Murloc can be looted by up to 40 people who are in a raid group. This means you have a chance at the turtles every time a raid member throws a fish back into the water. Currently, in the group finder, there are almost always one or two raids dedicated to this task and looking for more anglers – but if you don’t meet the requirements, you won’t be invited.
Apart from the turtles, the Murlocs also drop a lot of other items related to fishing. Various clothing pieces, such as a monocle or a diamond cane. The popular “Clever Fish”, which you can throw at beloved companions, is also often among the looted items.
