In America, the new quests of World of Warcraft are already live. Here you can watch the cinematic and find out why Darnassus is burning.
The War of the Thorns is in full swing in World of Warcraft, and the Americans are already a handful of quests ahead of us. They have already finished the campaign and are experiencing why Teldrassil and Darnassus, the home of the Night Elves, are going up in flames. The concluding cinematic has already been uploaded to many YouTube channels, and we certainly don’t want to withhold it from you. This is the “Warbringer Sylvanas” cinematic.
Sylvanas’ backstory. The cinematic shows Sylvanas Windrunner and how she has changed over the years. The most pivotal experience (beware of the pun!) was probably her death at the hands of the former Death Knight Arthas Menethil, who later became the Lich King. As a banshee, she was initially a slave of the Scourge, but later regained her free will. She founded the Forsaken and soon became a controversial but important part of the Horde.
A dying Night Elf mourns Sylvanas, who has become “the enemy of all life.” But she “can never extinguish hope” – yet that is exactly what Sylvanas attempts by burning down the Teldrassil.
What led to the burning of Teldrassil? Currently, the pre-event for the new expansion Battle for Azeroth is taking place in World of Warcraft. To cut the Alliance off from Azerite, which primarily occurs in Kalimdor, she wants to take control of the tree Teldrassil for the Horde. This led to the quests that have been accessible over the past few weeks.
Cortyn says: To be honest, I am a bit disappointed by the cinematic. I was hoping for a major plot twist or a significant motivation from Sylvanas – but it’s just plain evil. The image of Sylvanas as a soulless destroyer continues to be drawn. It becomes increasingly difficult to understand where this is supposed to be “morally grey.”
How did you like the cinematic?
