While most players grumble about the difficulty, a rogue completes the class challenge in WoW with ease – with rather poor equipment.
Players had three days to face the challenges of the Mage Tower at the Broken Shore in World of Warcraft. After all, there was a new skin for the artifact weapon for completing the particularly tough quest – at least if one could heroically take on this task. Most players had little chance despite an equipment level of item level 900+ and were brutally rammed into the ground until no more Nether Shards were available.
As reported by Buffed, there are also a few chosen ones who don’t need a high item level to complete the challenge. For example, the rogue Faringray from the American server Sisters of Elune. He had only an average item level of 878 when he managed to complete his class challenge and thereby unlock the new skin for the artifact weapon. This is likely the current record for the “worst item level” that succeeded in mastering the challenge.
Things get a bit demystified when one takes a look at Faringray’s legendary items. Both items would generally be considered “bad”, but for the class challenge, Valeera’s Will and Prydaz, Xavaric’s Magnum Opus are just perfect. They grant the rogue a shield of 25% of his health every 30 seconds, and with each use of Feint, he is healed for 20% of his health. A combination of these legendaries makes even lengthy fights significantly easier, as one can heal against the damage without much trouble.
