The next expansion of World of Warcraft will be revealed soon. The developers have announced a fixed date for it.
In World of Warcraft, most players are currently experiencing Patch 9.2, the End of Eternity. But fans have long been craving the next expansion, which hopefully brings the heroes of Azeroth back home. Now Blizzard has released a roadmap for the coming weeks – and we also have the announcement of the next WoW expansion there!
What has happened? The official Warcraft channel on Twitter has reignited the hype among Warcraft fans with the words, “The next expansion is on the horizon. Stay tuned.” The date for the reveal of the next addon has been announced.
When will the WoW addon be announced? That will happen on April 19, 2022 – so in about 6 weeks. Until then, a lot will happen in World of Warcraft, as there are still 1-2 cinematics awaiting players, the World-First race against the Jailer is coming up, and several chapters of the story campaign are still outstanding. There’s plenty of content to ease the wait until the announcement.
What kind of expansion will it be? So far, there are only speculations. Many supposed leaks and initial datamining suggest an addon focused on dragons. We have extensively presented a possible scenario for “The Dragon Isles”.
What else is coming? The schedule has some more exciting dates lined up for all Blizzard fans. Here’s what’s coming:
- A new Hearthstone expansion will be revealed on March 15.
- A Warcraft mobile game will be revealed in May.
The coming weeks and months are likely to be a feast for Blizzard fans and will further fuel the anticipation for future content – if the developers manage to hit the nerve of the community.
