A new content patch for World of Warcraft has been announced. Update 11.0.7 introduces a new island into the game, with a dark secret.
Somewhat unexpectedly, Blizzard announced the next content patch for World of Warcraft a few hours ago. Although the update 11.0.7 is just a “small” patch, it even brings a new area. An abandoned island of the Kul Tirans, which holds a dark secret. Included are of course a lot of new loot and even a very special ring that you can admire on your character.
What kind of island is this? The Sirens’ Island is named after the fact that it was once inhabited by sirens. During the fourth war – that is, during the time of Battle for Azeroth – the island was used by Kul Tiras to mine Azerite and use it for the war efforts. However, it seems that all the inhabitants of the island have disappeared, as there is no trace of the Kul Tirans.
The island will likely be a relatively small area, but it should be filled with plenty of secrets and activities to serve as an endgame zone for at least a few weeks. This may remind players of the Forbidden Island from Dragonflight, as there is also a ring with special abilities on the Sirens’ Island.
What content is there on the island? There is a new currency on the island called “Flame-Blessed Iron,” which can be used for pretty much everything there. You can give it to the goblins to advance their excavations and unlock special enemies for all players. At the same time, there are also mountable creatures and even a special ring called “Cyrce’s Ring.”
According to the developers, the ring is supposed to be very powerful in the current season and also facilitate the transition into the next season.
Aside from that, the content on the island changes every week – sometimes the Naga attack, sometimes the pirates, and occasionally the Vrykul. This is intended to keep the Sirens’ Island fresh for a while.
The exact content will surely be revealed in the next few days, as the PTR is supposed to start today. From then on, you can try out the patch and provide your feedback – unless you are busy farming lots of event tokens.
A release date for Patch 11.0.7 has not yet been announced. However, it is conceivable that the update will arrive before Christmas, allowing players to enjoy some new content over the holidays before it continues in the new year with Plunderstorm and then Patch 11.1. More information will surely be available soon at Warcraft Direct – which is just a few days away.
