The latest patch 8.1.5 drives many WoW players crazy. Numerous portals have been removed, and players now have to travel further.

This way, players are supposed to travel mainly through the cities and less through the remote areas.
This is the consequence of the removals: The portals took players to places that one could otherwise only reach by longer travel. Now, players have to find alternative routes to reach the areas.

Blizzard reacts: After Blizzard caught wind of the negative feedback, Community Manager Bornakk responded to the topic. He writes: “I understand that changes can initially be a bit daunting, but I also believe that they help keep the world of Azeroth alive. If there are fewer portals, does the world feel a bit larger for you?”
