The art of enchanting from World of Warcraft is radically changing. Numerous reagents are being removed from the game.
Over the years, numerous crafting materials have accumulated in World of Warcraft. Players need over 20 different materials for enchanting during levels 1-60, although most characters only stay in this level range for a few hours or days at most.
With patch 7.3.5, Blizzard aims to significantly streamline the system for enchanting. Over 100 different recipes for the profession will be altered and provided with new resource requirements.
Where reagents like Small Mystical Essence or Souls dust were previously needed, everything will be uniformly replaced by Illusion Dust and Luminous Shards. All items in the level range of 1-60 will then only provide Illusion Dust and Luminous Shards as resources.
The other crafting materials will be removed from the game and will no longer be available.
World scaling necessitates changes
Some players suspect that the removal of the “low” crafting materials in enchanting is absolutely necessary. Due to the forthcoming scaling of the entire game world, it may soon no longer be possible to effectively farm low-level green items. If someone needs crafting materials level 20 for enchanting but has already reached level 40, they would have to purchase the reagents from the auction house.
Whether this also means that players will no longer be able to farm green items at low levels in the future, such as for transmog gear, remains to be seen.
It is possible that this change will also be tested for other professions, such as inscription. So far, this is only active for enchanting on the PTR.
There is still no fixed release date for patch 7.3.5.
Cortyn says: I think the basic idea is good because numerous bank characters of mine are hopelessly overcrowded with enchanting materials that serve no purpose anymore. If all these materials are now consolidated into two resources, they will take up much less space. It could be that some elitist alt still wants Crusader on their weapons…
With patch 7.3.5, there will also be dark story – a undead Draenei girl gets a long quest line…
