The 24 has also fallen. In World of Warcraft, records for Mythic dungeons continue to tumble – and there was still plenty of time left.
Week after week, players of WoW unlock new bonuses with Soulbinds and better gear through the Great Vault, allowing for new challenges to be tackled. This week, the first team managed to complete a keystone at the dizzying level of 24 within the time limit.
Which dungeon was mastered? The dungeon was “The Necrotic Wake”. It is generally considered a rather simple dungeon with comparatively few trash mobs. After a slightly larger cleanup phase at the beginning of the dungeon, the bosses follow relatively quickly and only a few trash mobs need to be defeated.
The boss mechanics are also relatively simple, making The Necrotic Wake a good target for such records. A Venthyr in the group was also helpful, as they can take over some stone bats that deal high damage for a short time.
In the end, there was still more than a minute left.
What kind of team was it? The composition of the team is relatively classic. The Demon Hunter is currently very sought after as a tank, as they have good control mechanisms and are masters of kiting – even if that is unpopular among many tanks. The Priest as a Discipline Healer is somewhat more unusual, but still present in high “Mythic+” dungeons.
The damage dealers in the group reflect a classic setup. Fire Mage, Balance Druid, and Outlaw Rogue are currently among the top DPS for Mythic+. So the team relied on a tried and tested composition.
These are generally the most popular classes that are often taken along in M+ – especially when the item level is beyond 220.
Did they manage it with the current affixes? No. In Asia, there is a greater delay in the weekly reset than in Europe and America. There, players still had these affixes:
- Fortified (Stronger trash mobs)
- Necrotic (Ghosts appear from defeated enemies)
- Volcanic (Volcanoes emerge beneath ranged attackers)
- Prideful (Additional mini-bosses that provide a strong buff)
This combination of affixes is generally regarded as relatively mild and allows for new records to be set. Nevertheless, a dungeon of the difficulty Mythic+24 is extremely hard and an achievement that only a few other players will reach.
In contrast, this week looks very different. The affixes of this week are particularly tough and will likely take down many tanks early.
