WoW: The War Within is starting soon – here is the latest trailer:
Event Radiant Echoes
- When does the event run? From July 31, 2024, to August 27, 2024.
- Where does the event take place? In Dalaran, Dragonblight, Duskwood, and Searing Gorge.
- Who can participate? Characters between levels 10 and 70. It doesn’t matter if you own The War Within or not.
- Is there a new currency? Yes, the Memory Shards, which you can earn by completing memories, echoes, and unforgettable bosses.
Start of the Event and the Different Phases
If you log in with a level 70 character at the start of Radiant Echoes, you will receive an introduction quest that takes you to Dalaran. Characters below level 70 should be guided to Dalaran without a quest.
The new event in WoW consists of four phases that need to be completed in different regions of Azeroth. You can reach the respective areas through the portals in Dalaran without a long travel time. If you want to return to the flying capital from there, you can also do so via a portal.
Please note: The event is not constantly active in all zones. When a portal glows gold, the event is running in the respective region. The rotation of the areas is as follows:
- During the first week of the event, zones will change every 90 minutes.
- During the second week of the event, zones will change every 60 minutes.
- During the third and fourth week of the event, zones will change every 30 minutes.
In the four phases, you can expect different tasks:
- Phase 1: You defeat the coagulated memories that appear in the zone.
- Phase 2: In the active zone, six random events are active, marked on the map by a colorful globe. Your task is to defeat the radiant echoes.
- Phase 3: You need to complete a quest in each zone, for which you must defeat the Unforgettable Lich King (location: Dragonblight; weekly quest: Only Darkness), the Unforgettable Onyxia (location: Duskwood; weekly quest: Broken Masquerade), and the Unforgettable Firelord (location: Searing Gorge; weekly quest: Champion of the Waterlords).
- Phase 4: Once the boss of the zone is defeated, the final phase starts and the radiant echoes disappear. Now you can defeat any lingering memories to earn more memory shards. A timer will countdown to the start of the next zone event.
The Rewards of Radiant Echoes
In each of the four event zones, you will find a new vendor where you can exchange the earned memory shards – the amount of shards you have farmed can be seen in the currency tab of the character window (shortcut key C), specifically under “The War Within”:
- Dalaran: Rememberer Amuul in the Chamber of the Guardian
- Dragonblight: Echo of the Silver Hand at the Wyrmrest Temple
- Duskwood: Forgotten Hero at Tabetha’s Courtyard
- Searing Gorge: Memory of a Duke at Iron Summit
The items you can buy for memory shards range from a 32-slot bag or a 30-slot reagent bag (each for 2,000 memory shards) to a mount per faction (Unforgettable Golden Gryphon (Alliance) and Unforgettable Windrider (Horde) for 20,000 memory shards each) to three new pets and various equipment pieces with an item level of 480.
What to do with the Lifeless Stone Ring?
There is also a Lifeless Stone Ring, which costs only 25 memory shards and has the following use effect: “Soak it with the essences of Azeroth to restore its power. An ancient titan ring that has faded over time. Perhaps it can be renewed.”
If you collect memories in the event zones with the ring, you can combine them into essences and thus craft the heirloom ring “Band of Radiant Echoes” with item level 227, which levels with your character.
